Atmel and SkyeTek team up on HF RFID systems

Jan 16, 2007__Atmel and SkyeTek have entered into a technology partnership. The combination of Atmel's advanced cryptographic RF circuits, CryptoRF, and SkyeTek's Advanced Universal Reader Architecture (AURA) is expected to yield a high-performance, secure HF reader & tag platform. The partnership will provide both companies' clients with a secure option for embedded RFID applications. Resulting solutions will use CryptoRF's security features and the reliability of the SkyeTek ReaderDNA and ReaderWare technology. This combination will provide users with the ability to adapt RFID into existing applications including e-Pedigrees, patient safety, consumables authentication, item-level inventory management, and ticketing. SkyeTek's ReaderWare also provides the capability to upgrade the reader to support future tags, protocols, and cryptography via a firmware upgrade.
