CAS¡¯s RFID Project Passes Approval

Jan 30,2007_ The 863 Expert Team has checked and approved the Analysis and Testing Study of RFID¡¯s Application in Logistics made by the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

IACAS says they set up an RFID analysis and analogue testing platform targeting logistics applications, and based on this they carried out detailed analysis and testing on the e-tags, readers, antenna and middleware associated with important applications.

The expert team found that all the major indices of IACAS concerning RFID¡¯s application in the logistics field have reached the relevant standards, and have therefore approved it.

RFID is mainly used in logistics, agriculture, manufacturing and services in China to help improve operational efficiency and reduce management costs. The 863 project undertaken by IACAS is one of the first RFID projects supported by the national government and it is considered a useful exploration of RFID technology utilization in China in the 11th Five-Year Plan period.
