Checkpoint RFID Systems adopts a new growth path

Jan 18,2007_Recently Checkpoint system has announced that it has been involved in the 36-dock door trial of Gen2 RFID. The trial is being conducted by the METRO Group, the giant German retailer. It would be conducted at one of the operational distribution centers. METRO had contracted with Checkpoint to provide hardware integration services. The company had provided support in the design, procurement, configuring and installation of the hardware for the trial.

The trial included products from a lot of vendors which included RFID Gen2 chip and reader manufacturer Impinj and RFID network infrastructure provider Reva Systems. All of the 36 adjacent dock doors at the METRO distribution center are equipped with Gen2 RFID readers. The purpose of this activity is to increase efficiency and be able to keep a track of the products.
